Re: ~*Homemade Diaper Thread*~April 26th-May 3rd

I need a little help...

So I've only made pockets before but decided to make a quick dry aio this time. Going to use two layers of hemp fleece and two of microfiber (it's a mf towel...so super thick...two layer of it = FB insert) and then top with some suedecloth.

My question is....I don't really want to do a snap in soaker....why not just sew it in? Why don't I see that anywhere? Any ideas on how to sew it in nicely without a bump?

umm, you could do it like thr trimsies pattern says for a sewn in "AIO" kinda deal. Just sew the soaker to the inner layer at the front (like maybe an inch down) with a sig zag, and then T&T/serge, KWIM?

it doesn't give pic instructions or anything... I don't think. Just angle it fron the elastic points, sitch, then top stitch for stability. It really saves on outer fabric too. You only need like a 11.5x19" cut for outer fabric with a medium, its awesome embellishing the tabs, and super easy~

That would definitely come in handy for me because the large sized ones don't fit on a standard diaper cut I don't think. So that way I could use the 6super cute DC's that I've had stashed away

oh yeah, for sure! I know when I use to get 20x20 cuts of knit for medium DDU's, I tried to use them for side snapping, and could barely get a medium out of it, let alone a large! LDD's with embellished tabs are my fav dipes for pockets right now. I just widen the crotch a bit, and widen the inner fabric even more juuuust a wee bit, so stuffing it alittle easier.

I'll definitely try to widen the inner fabric when I cut more out. Since DS is in larges, they're not so hard to stuff but I made him a medium when I first got the pattern and it was a struggle to stuff it lol. I also wanna try the welt pocket opening in the back next time I sew one, I like the front pocket opening for nasty diaper cleanup but I don't like the way it looks.
