Cold remedies

Hello,
This is my first pregnancy and I've been getting hit with a cold more often than I'd imagine (about once a month). My pcp/obgyn is amazing, but getting in touch with him is difficult.

Do you ladies have any natural remedies that work for you and baby? A nurse told me Sudafed is pregnancy safe, but I normally don't take medications, so I'm not about to jump into that unless I need to.

Any help is greatly appreciated! And anything with instant gratification is even better, since there is no one to cover my work shifts this weekend :/

Re: Cold remedies

I swear by 1 tsp of honey mixed with 1/4 tsp of cinnamon, twice a day. Shortens the life of every cold I've had!

I make a "tea" with raw apple cider vinegar, water and raw honey. You can add cinnamon for an added kick. Heard about it from a Native American friend she said its her family's go to and its pregnancy safe.

Re: Cold remedies

Hi!
I'm sorry to hear you have been getting colds. I recommend taking Vitamin C to help knock it out faster, as well as using a netipot to rinse your sinuses.. that has kept me from getting sinus infections!
Hope that helps!

Re: Cold remedies

If you have a lot of mucous I reccommend a netipot or Alkalol nasal wash. Breathe right strips help too at night time. Definitely vitamin C, lots of water and plenty of rest! Hope ou feel better soon
