DD is still a little young for this but I will definitely expect her to help clean up after she's done playing.

DS is still too young for this, but absolutely he will be expected to do this.

Absolutely. My son just turned two, and I help him pick up right now.

Absolutely! It would be rude not to. I regularly have people that don't at my house and don't even offer. Kinda rude...

We always offer and they usually tells us just to go. They do same here and we always say that we will take care of it. That is with soon to be three year old.

With 7 year old and her friends, I do expect them clean up before they leave and vice versa.

So, it depends on age.

Re: Do you make your kids

My kids are really bad about helping at home. But, I do always offer to help. I do my best to get my kids (4.5 and 2.5) to help. Often, they don't do much. But, I always do pick up or at least offer.

This is something we really, really need to work on at home. Unfortunately, it doesn't come naturally to me, so I'm not good at enforcing it.

Yep. My DS's are still young they help, and mommy is right there helping with them. When they had friends over stateside, the mom would always just tell them to pick them up and wait at the door. At 2 & 5 they didn't pick up much and I thought the mom was rude just ignoring her children.
