Yes. Most of my friends do also but my sister always comes over and my nephew destroys my house and she never even offers and it drives me crazy.

Yes, this is something that drives me crazy. I will admit we aren't always the best at cleaning up at our house all the time, but at somewhere else absolutely. Unfortunately no one ever seems to offer to do the same when they come to our house. We are also the only family who ever helps clean up the nursery after church too??

Yep. If they help make the mess they can help clean it up. When the grils were smaller I would pick up while they 'helped' lol

Re: Do you make your kids

I always tell my toddler that we have to pick up the toys, but many times the host will say "no it's ok" then in that case we don't. I don't feel people have to at my house... because my house has toys scattered about all over the place EVERYDAY thanks to my own kids so I'm used to picking them up at night by myself anyway! haha. Once they get to a certain age I'm hoping I won't HAVE to tell them and they'll just do it out of respect.

Re: Do you make your kids

My DD is just getting to the age where she can comprehend this concept and so yes, I make her help me. Obviously, she's 2, so the "quality" of the cleanup isn't there. But she is starting to understand that if she makes a mess - whether it be at our house, or at someone elses' - she needs to be part of the cleanup.

Re: Do you make your kids

Yep. It's just polite, if your kids helped make the mess, to have them help pick it up. We usually are doing group event with our MOMS Club and there are a lot of kids, so the general rule at those types of get togethers is that everyone has to pick up and put away 5 toys. That gets everything done and none of the kids feel like they're being forced to be responsible for the whole mess.

Yes. I dont care if there was a mess before we got there. My kids are required to pick up a handful of toys.
