teacher gift ideas

my 4-year-old is having his preschool "promotion ceremony" on tuesday. i am really stuck on gifts to get for his two teachers. any ideas??? i'd prefer to make something. but if i can't come up with any ideas for homemade gifts, storebought gifts will need to be inexpensive. but i still want it to be meaningful.

Re: teacher gift ideas

I'm a teacher and this was one of the cutest, and useful gifts I've received.

You just pick up a cheap hot pad and matching kitchen towel.

Other great gifts are thank you notes, pictures (hand drawn and photos), Pencil/Pen holders (I once received one made out of an old water bottle cut in half, sanded on the edges, and decorated), Soaps, lotions, chap stick, stickers, pencils, we aren't picky. Teachers are just happy to be recognized and more so happy to be appreciated. PS I save every thank you note and picture any child has ever given me in a filing cabinet drawer. The kids know I do, and they think it is sooooo neat.

Re: teacher gift ideas

I've gotten the teachers WAHM soaps, an all natural sponge & wrapped it up all nice (or put it in a small reusable bag). I figure everyone washes their hands. Or a nice box of blank note cards.

Or gift cards to restaurants local to the school so they could grab lunch while working & it would be on us. Places that make sandwiches or even Dunkin Donuts (there's a Drive-Thru one close to the schools) so they could get some coffee on their way to school.
