Re: Recipe for HFCS-free BBQ sauce
I've heard of one that you mix ketchup with grape jelly. I don't know the amounts, though. Or if it is good.

Re: Recipe for HFCS-free BBQ sauce
They'd have to be HFCS-free ketchup and jelly. Darn, it's so hard to get anything that doesn't have HFCS in it. Heck, I think my laundry soap and school books have it too.

Re: Recipe for HFCS-free BBQ sauce
Just thought maybe someone out there would have some secret recipe for one! Every time I search for one, atleast 1 of the ingredients has HFCS!

Re: Recipe for HFCS-free BBQ sauce
Ask and ye shall receive:
Here's a recipe. * 1 tbsp olive oil * 3 large cloves garlic, peeled, minced * 1/4 cup cider vinegar * 3 tbsp tomato paste * 1 1/2 tsp chili sauce * 3 tbsp molasses * 2 tbsp brown sugar * 3 tsp Worcestershire sauce * Coarse salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste Mix all ingredients in saucepan, and simmer over med-low ,stirring often, until desired consistency is reached. Be careful not to burn it (with the sugar it can happen easily). I plan on trying this fairly soon...but I don't have molasses in my pantry. |

Re: Recipe for HFCS-free BBQ sauce
I generally just mix ketchup (HFCS-free), brown sugar, cider vinegar, and spices until it tastes right.
A college friend of mine is starting a natural bbq sauce company right now. It's only available in a small area of Indiana at the moment, but is supposed to be available online soon.
