Re: What time to do your kids go to bed?

My 4 younger children (6, 4, 3 and 6 months) are in bed and asleep no later than 8:00 PM. They get up around 8 AM, the baby gets up at 9AM.

My 2 older children go to bed whenever...they home school so its not an issue for us.

Re: What time to do your kids go to bed?

We start the bedtime routine at 7:30 and it's lights out by 8 at the latest. My youngest is 15 months old and usually she doesn't fall asleep until 8:30 and needs a glass of water and some snuggle time before she'll go to sleep. They wake up around 7-7:30 in the morning. DD doesn't nap, DS takes a nap sometimes around 2, and DD2 naps from noon to 2.

Edit: I'm 24 also, so not an old fuddy duddy either, my kids just need their rest to function and be happy during the day. It's better for their health and for their behavior so that's how we do it. I don't understand why some parents will let their young kids stay up until 11, their kids must be terrors the next day. Not to mention, after the kids go to bed is my only "me" time, and my only time with DH.

ds7 goes to bed no later then 8 and dd 3 is in bed by 7 every night. They are early risers, between 5 and 6am so i put them to bed early to ensure they get enough sleep!

Re: What time to do your kids go to bed?

We have the same schedule as you! Well, except that my 2 year old DD gets up around 6:30 AM and takes a longer nap - usually from 1:30 to 4:30.

We run an identical schedule to the OP.

Re: What time to do your kids go to bed?

My son goes to bed at 10 and wakes around 6 am everyday. He does take a 2-3 hour nap during the day though. Honestly I am on the same schedule.

I am 33 and DH is 35. However DH doesn't get home from work till 7 and gets up at 6 am to go to work by 7 so this may have something to do with things for us.

Re: What time to do your kids go to bed?

My DS is 2 1/2 and we start bedtime routine(shower, jammies, book) at around 6:30 and he is in bed by 7. We know he doesn't fall asleep right away but he enjoys going to bed(and we enjoy that it has never been a fight). He is usually up at 6, when DH leaves for work, and will nap from about 12-3(plays in his bed for the first hour and then falls asleep).

My DD is 7 weeks old so she naps all the time and we are starting to get a routine where sge is in her bed by 9 and she will usually sleep till 2 or 3, eat and theb go back to sleep till 6 or 6:30 when she is ready to eat again.

I'm 27 and DH is 41...so I wouldn't say we are sort of spanning the gap of the age range.

Ours go to bed around 9:30pm. They are 7,5 and 2.5.

The 2.5 yo still takes a 1-2 hour afternoon nap

FTR, we are not young parents. We're both closer to 40 than we are to 30

Re: What time to do your kids go to bed?

My 8 month old is still figuring out a schedule, but for the most part he goes to bed around midnight. DH gets home at 11:30pm, and DS insists on being up to see him most nights. If we had a more normal schedule, I'm sure it would be similar to the OP's schedule.

Re: What time to do your kids go to bed?

DS goes to bed between 5:45 and 6:30 pm. He gets up around 5:30-6:30 am. If I keep him up later, he gets up EARLIER. So, that's our "zone".

DD goes to bed between 7 and 8 pm. She gets up around 6-6:30 am. She sometimes stays awake talking in her room until 8:30 or 9:00, but lights are out by 8. Again, if we let her stay up later, she gets up earlier (like 3 or 4 am).

It all depends on your and your LOs sleeping habits. DH and I are early birds, so it doesn't surprise us that our kids are too. My sis who is a night-owl and is married to a night-owl has a daughter who is a night-owl. Her bedtime was much later than my kids' because she slept in later. Let the comments roll off your back and know that you're doing what works for your family.

FWIW, DH and I are both in bed between 9:30 and 10:00. Staying up late isn't for us.
