Re: What time to do your kids go to bed?

My two year old goes to bed at 8 every night, gets up at 7ish, and takes a nap from 11 to whenever he wakes up (usually 1-2). My 5 year old goes to bed at 8 on school nights and 9 on non-school nights.

Re: What time to do your kids go to bed?

My 4 year old is normally in bed by 8:30. But there are nights that are later. She cannot take a nap, if she does she will be bouncing off the walls until wee hours of the night (11ish) So I try to keep her awake all day for my own sanity.

DS is 9 months, he doesn't really have a pattern. I never really give a bedtime until the kids are older. But he is normally asleep by 9. He wakes up a few times a night to nurse and both kids are up by 7:30 most mornings. Sometimes its earlier, but I hate that lol.
I'm 23.

Re: What time to do your kids go to bed?

My boys (7, 11, and 13) go to bed at 9:00 on school nights and 11:00 on weekends and during the summer. By the time we do dinner (around 6-6:30), school work, and showers there's really no way they could get to bed any sooner than that on school nights.

DD (18 months) has been going to bed at 9:00 for the past 6 months or so but she'd currently in an "I refuse to go to sleep" phase. I'm hoping it will pass soon and she'll get back into her routine. She's been driving me bonkers this week.

I go to bed around 10-10:30 when I have early classes, but in the summer I tend to stay up past midnight. I enjoy the dark, quiet house after the kids are in bed.

I think bedtimes will vary by lifestyle and there is no right or wrong time as long as the child gets enough sleep. I don't see much of a difference between a toddler sleeping from 7:00 pm-7:00 am or 10:00 pm-10:00 am. I'm not a fan of putting older kids to bed while the sun is still shining though, just because I remember hating it when I was 5-10ish and my parents would send me to bed from 6:30-7:30 while it was still light out and I could hear my friends playing outside.

Re: What time to do your kids go to bed?

Bedtime routine starts around 7:30 (30 min earlier on bath nights-- pjs, vitamin, teeth, story, bed), and kids are in bed by 8. My 4yo (and 6yo on non-school days) has "quiet time" every afternoon while my 2yo takes his 2 hour nap (and hopefully the baby does too!)-- 4yo falls asleep about 50% of the time, the other days he watches a movie or looks at books.
My kids get up between 7:30 and 8:30 depending on the day.
