Can your DH look at it? Or another man you trust (like grandpa or an uncle), while you are there too, of course? Maybe some male perspective would help.

I have no advice, but my DS is 6 months and regularly grabs himself during diaper changes. They sure do find that part fast!

ah I never had a brother and everything with my son is so new and strange when it comes to this, he is only 3 months but already this happens when he really has to pee.. like when he has been asleep a while lol! always a topic that makes me appreciate diaperswappers!

My circ'd 5 year old used to say it hurt, but like a pp said I think he just wasn't sure what sensation it really was! He constantly has an erection, btw...ever since he was a little baby.

My intact 4 year old doesn't complain it hurts, but he is very protective of it if he thinks someone is coming near it, lmao!

It sounds like it is possibly a circ'd boy issue. I have 2 intact boys and 3 intact nephews who i am around alot and I have never had them complain that there erections hurt. The worst I got was ds2 angry that "it wont go down!"

Ya I wonder if it's a circ thing too?

Perhaps carseat straps, and clothes are noticable to them?

I have three boys all intact - we've had very, very few times where they are erect and none have ever seemed to notice.

OP - Maybe talk to your Dr when you are there next just to double check everything looks alright.

A too-tight circ was what came to my mind, also.

DS is 3.5 and intact and usually only gets erections when he needs to pee. This was only a problem during diaper changes when I needed to point him downwards and it WOULDN'T go down, lol. What I accidentally discovered was giving him a drink of cold water would make it go away almost immediately. He's never complained about things hurting, though.

Re: Little boys and their.. "toys" (Maybe TMI?

i would wonder about a too tight circ. my little guy is 19mos and regularly wakes up and is "at attention" however, even though he's standing up straight there is skin that is "loose" around his penis. i mean, sometimes i use that as a good time to get him good and wiped to prevent the cheesy stuff from building up because it's exposed, and the skin still moves quite a bit. most of the time (when he's not at attention) most of the head of the penis is covered by the rest of the skin around there. so my DS's is a "loose" one?

i guess this sounds like i pay a lot of attention to his parts, cleaning all the poop off those parts takes awhile when you have to push things around.

cleaning boys is much harder than girls

and yes they find that part right away. every time the diaper is open DS has his hand down there! sometimes he pulls so hard i think he's gonna yank something off!

no advice, just wanted you to know you aren't alone, my little boy complains that his penis hurts whenever he gets an erection. i just tell him it will go away in a little bit.
