A couple NB sizing questions....
I didn't start CDing until my dd was about 5 months, so I missed out on the nb stage. So, what's the best type of "coming home" outfit? (even though I'll already be at home
) I'm thinking I'll need something warm (warmer than just a soaker), but then I've also heard that longies can be kind of difficult to get on at that age. So, do I need a sleep sack, xs interlock or knitted longies, footed longies, soaker....???? Or is there something else I'm not thinking of?Also, I've knit a couple snapdragon soakers (1 nb and 1 small) and they seem SO tiny!!! Are they really going to fit??? (DD was 7.6 at birth, so I'm assuming this baby boy will be around that or a little bigger...)

Re: A couple NB sizing questions....
look in the swap chat thread there is a pic of Amanda`s NB in her coming home outfit that i knit for her its a 14R 14W 7I and fits almost perfect (the legs where just a little long 6inches would have been just perfect). I believe she was 42weeks when she had her lo and in the 8-9pound range
for a nb myself I like knit sleep sacks or longies or interlock soakers-longies for a fall winter baby i would have a smss knit up with a hudson hat and some longies lol maybe even some adorable little socks

Re: A couple NB sizing questions....
I've got a July baby on the way as well and have decided on knit longies with a matching hat. I can't wait to see them (they are still in the works)!

Re: A couple NB sizing questions....
Thanks, Steph. That outfit is ADORABLE!! And the longies look perfect on her (although she looks like she's swimming in the sweater, lol). I thought about doing an smss (even though I'm due in July....maybe I'd make it with short sleeves...), but was afraid the small would be way too big. Is there a NB size for that?

Re: A couple NB sizing questions....
Hey,
I know we talked before about the snapdragon soaker size. The last one I made I added 8 stitches around and 2 short rows in back and I like the way it looks. I knit under the ribbed waist for about 1 inch longer as well. Stats were: Waist: 13" unstretched Rise: 14" (inch higher in back and lower in front) Hip: 14" It also gave a bit more room between the legs. I did the flaps the same length so they were wider. I thought the crotch was too narrow in the original NB soaker. ![]() This was by "by the pattern NB" ![]() Comparing you can see the hips are wider in the 4th one and the front dips a bit.

Re: A couple NB sizing questions....
I dont have a nb yet, but I have a 3 mth old in my daycare. I tried some longies on him to see what the fit would be and how long they would fit my little guy. This baby is prob about 13-14 lbs, and in 3-6 mth clothes. Over a sposie I tried on my SMALLEST longies which have a 5 in inseam. They were about 1/4 to 1/2 in to short, with shoes you wouldnt even be able to tell, and remember thats without a fluffy butt. I tried on some with an 8 in or so inseam, and they were about 3-4 inches to long. I would have had to cuff them 2-3 times
