On a mission to make a wrap conversion

So heres the story- I have an Ellaroo Maija that I simply adore the colorway of, but its too hot to wrap my very warm blooded DS in the summer in Florida. And as DS gets bigger he seems to like a little more freedom in the carrier. I want to make it into a wrap conversion mei tai but haven't been able to find any patterns or advice as to how to do it . I'd rather not have to send it out to be converted when i can really do it myself.

My sewing skills are pretty decent- I've made diapers/clothing etc in the past so that's not really an issue. I'm just at a loss as to how to cut the wrap in order to be able to make it work. I want wide straps (one of the things that drew me to a wrap conversion to begin with). The Ellaroo is a 4.6 and I think it measures true to size though I haven't checked since I got it, so I think there should be enough material.

If anyone has advice or knows of where i can get a pattern etc i'd appreciate it. TIA

Oh that is helpful thank you. I just wish I could find something detailing where to cut the straps out of (like do you cut them end to end along the length of the wrap? or next to each other? does that make sense? ) and where to cut the body out of so you have enough material to make the whole thing with one wrap (since I believe that's how its done generally? ). I'm deathly afraid I'm going to start cutting up my beautiful wrap only to find I need to buy another one (not an easy thing I found when looking for it initially) in order to have enough to finish it. *sigh*

Ah I could- but that is so not my style

I'll probably obsessively map it out before breaking out the scissors
