Hello mamas,
I am very interested in donating milk to a milkbank. However I do not have a clue where or how to do this...
Any advise?

You can find milk banks on hmbna.org

or you can look into donating directly to a baby in your area in need through milkshare

Either way, what you're doing is a very wonderful thing! Be aware though that some milk banks DO charge upwards of $4 per ounce for your milk when selling it to the families so I'd look for a not-for-profit one

I love our milk bank, and yes if they were to sell it, it would be crazy high but most is for preemies and the very ill in hospitals and is paid for my insurance, as a Rx. I donated with my last 2 and plan to again with the next baby.

They will have you do blood work, just like donating blood and a health work up, all verbal.

I was dairy free, so they loved my milk, haha!

I like Milkshare the best, although I've only been able to get milk through one donor so far, and it was a one time thing (the donor was visiting my state and couldn't keep all her milk froze). I wish I could donate, and if I could, I would use Milkshare. I have to use donor milk, since I have a very low supply.
